Author bio:

Justin Sutherland, a St. Paul, Minnesota native, is a nationally known chef, restaurateur, food personality, and television star. Food and family inspired him to pursue his passion and develop his career as a chef. Sutherland is on the nationally aired television show Fast Foodies (on TruTV/TBS), he won an Iron Chef episode, competed on Top Chef Season 16, and is proprietor of The Handsome Hog in St. Paul, MN, as well as O'Bachan Japanese Fried Chicken & Noodles and Chickpea Hummus Bar. Sutherland is the culinary consultant for Allianz Field, home of the MLS's Minnesota United, and also has a line of spices sold locally in grocery chains in the Upper Midwest, as well as signature whiskey blend with Tattersall Distilling. Outside of his restaurants, Sutherland is also the co-owner of Hybrid Nation, a socially-conscious streetwear and lifestyle brand that is creating social change by selling products with a meaningful cause behind them, and by acting as a catalyst for the continuation of action and conversation focused on promoting the importance of diversity and social equality. Sutherland is active in many philanthropic efforts, raising funds and donations for hospitality workers affected by the pandemic through The North Stands, MN Central Kitchen, and as a board member the Inner City Ducks.
